Spring: A Season of Transition

As the seasons change and the temps start to rise, it’s time to transition from wrestling pebbles to getting on the sharp end of the rope again. It is always a time of relearning gear, rope systems, knots (I haven’t even touched a rope in MONTHS) while getting scared on 5.5 because of my complete lack of endurance. Thoughts after 20ft of climbing include:

– Oh, right. I don’t have a crash pad
– I should probably look for a gear placement

– Is this route almost over?

– Don’t look too far ahead, the amount of climbing left will make you straight up dizzy

While I was totally gripped on every lead, nothing beats being outside in the sunshine in one of my absolute favorite places. Looking forward to spending more time in the high places during the coming seasons.
